I recently went to a local fair where I was offered the opportunity to sell my products. I began to realize that I had no displays or necklace stands. I decided that since my shop is Handmadeverything, that my displays should be handmade as well. I went to Pinterest (the solver of all crafty problems) certain that I would find what I was looking for. Sadly, it was not there.
My first thought was so go to dollar tree and look around until inspiration hit me, surprisingly (and fortunately) it did. Here is how I made a necklace stand for just $6 (only counting materials). This only works if you have a dollar store or Walmart near by to go somewhere with really cheap stuff.

Materials: Foam floral ring - $1 Burlap Ribbon - $1 Stem vase - $1 1 small bowl (mine came in a 3 pack)- $1 1 deep bowl with a stand/lip- $1 1 pack of circle push pins - $1 Super glue - $1 | Supplies I already had on hand: Glue gun/glue White paint (optional) |
It helps to stick with colors that will either bend or are the same to make you product look more cohesive and less like a "craft project"
The first thing I did was to glue the burlap around the foam ring with the glue gun. To do this I cut into easier to work with section of about 12 1/2 inches.
Where one section ended, I started a new one. I tried to keep most of he glue on the inside of the ring.
After I was done gluing all of the burlap down, I cut off the loose strings left over just to make it more polished and neat.
I then set my first small bowl on the inside of the burlap covered ring. I drew with a pencil around while it was inside of the ring first to give me guiding line for glue, that way when I took the bowl out and applied the glue gun glue I knew where the glue should be. I then placed the bowl back into the ring with glue now on it and pressed firmly.
Next I took my stem vase and glued around the top rim with super glue.
I then place the vase onto the bowl that has been glued into the burlap ring. Afterwards I put a ring of glue gun glue around the rim to make sure it didn't break off. It doesn't matter of this part look messy because you won't see it on the finished product.
Then I took the push pins and glued them in circle around, and on top of the burlap ring to give the necklaces something to hand off of.
Finally I glued base of the vase to the deep bowl. I set the deep bowl upside down and place the vase inside of the lip on the bottom of the bowl. I used super glue and glue gun glue to glue this part ass well. I think it helps if the bowl on the bottom has a lip just to give it some stability and to hide and glue that might show at the bottom.
Here are my final results!
In the end I decided I wanted to paint the glass white.
